Friends of Raymond is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization consisting entirely of volunteers. The mission of the Friends of Raymond is to preserve, interpret, manage, and promote significant historic sites in Raymond, Hinds County, Mississippi, and the surrounding area and to receive contributions or grants from any and all sources to be used for one or more of the foregoing purposes.
Our group has purchased, preserved, and provided historical interpretation for the original site of the Battle of Raymond, which was an important part of General Ulysses S. Grant’s 1862 Vicksburg campaign during the Civil War.
Friends of Raymond is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors who are elected by the voting members and serve for rotating three-year terms. Members of the Board for current year are listed here.
